From the beginning, photography has been the one medium that has, for lack of a better term, “spoken” to me. It was the one medium that did not intimidate me yet filled me with a sense of accomplishment and value. To me, it was like creating my own world within the images that I produced; it was like magic. Photography is the easiest and most truthful method for me to express myself and I love it for that.
My imagery as well as my printing methods are specifically used to correctly convey what my mind is trying to get at. Usually it takes even me a while to see what I am trying to say or do but once I grasp the full meaning, the work becomes that much stronger. Most of the time viewers get uncomfortable with what they see but I take that as a side of themselves that they would rather not face. Primarily, even though my work addresses my past, it is on a scale so that no specifics are included. This is done in order to let the viewers relate a part of themselves to the imagery.
